As an officer on the board of the Keystone State Reading Association for Shippensburg University, it has been so exciting to pick topics to discuss at meetings this semester. I'm also so grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside such amazing people on the board of officers! Together we came up with a few topics that we thought were important and interesting for our members. The following are the topics we focused on this semester, just click on them to take you to the Powerpoint slide show that goes along with it!
Incorporating Music and Technology in the Classroom
The Daily 5
After the discussion and Powerpoint for the Daily 5 our members created the following craft to remember each step of the Daily 5 we discussed at the meeting!
PECT and PAPA Prep
First Year Helpful Hints (Thanks to Debbie Urso)
This meeting we had a guest speaker come join us, Debbie Urso. She is a reading specialist who came to talk to us about helpful hints for our first year of teaching. The Powerpoint was created by her!
The Best Children's Books of the Year as Great Mentor Texts (Thanks to Susan Berrier)
Myself along with the fellow officers on KSRA made special snacks for our last meeting and to celebrate Susan coming to speak with us! Of course our snacks had to go along with some amazing children's books!
